 Veterinary Officer

 

The Biological Resource Centre (BRC) of Biomedical Sciences Institutes is a significant biomedical facility at Biopolis. It houses a range of laboratory animal species within a dedicated, state-of-the-art facility and will serve the public-funded Research Institutes and commercial users.

 

As a Veterinary Officer you will report to the Director (Veterinary Services) of BRC and work closely with the other veterinary staff. You will be responsible for issues relating to laboratory animal health, husbandry and welfare.

 

Other roles and responsibilities will also include but are not limited to: conducting training programs for staff utilising research animals; providing consultative services pertaining to the selection and use of animals, the development or evaluation of animal research protocols or production facilities, in-depth evaluation of the relationships of animal disease to research programs and serving as a member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).


Requirements:

-          A recognised Veterinary Degree with eligibility to apply for an    AVA veterinary licence.

-          Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. On-the-job training and support will be provided.

2. EXPERIENCED VETS REQUIRED IN SINGAPORE

Practice looking for motivated & EXPERIENCED small animal veterinarians. Full-time and locum positions available with minimum after-hours and overtime.
 
We practise high quality medicine and good client education.
 
Our clinics are equipped with digital radiography, isoflurane anaesthetic machine, dental machine, Vetscan, centrifuge, IV infusion pumps, cautery, suction pump and computerised record system.
 
We are supportive in professional development and offers customised employment packages to suit individual lifestyle. Attractive and rewarding remunerations will be awarded to performing vets. Selected high performer will be offered position as manager vet and/ or co-own the clinic(s).
 
Preferably seeking valued applicants that can fulfil one or most of the following:

  • independent and confident in diagnostics and internal medicine
  • ability with radiography and/ or ultrasonograph and/ or endoscopy
  • ability to perform routine soft-tissue surgeries (e.g. desex, hernia repair, c-section, lumpectomy, Urolithiasis ...)
  • ability to perform other common soft tissue surgeries (e.g. thoracic drainage and/ or other drainage placement, splenectomy, soft palate, foreign body r/o ...)
  • ability to perform basic eye surgeries (e.g. conjunctival fold/ nictitans gland prolapse)
  • ability to perform basic orthopedics (e.g. bone pinning / cruciate repair / patellar luxation)
     

Requirements
Degree in Veterinary Medicine fully registrable in Singapore.
